Keeping Your Community Clean
Car maintenance often results in environmentally hazardous waste materials. That’s why Advance Auto
Parts, Checker Auto Parts, Schuck's Auto Supply and Kragen Auto Parts have easy-to-use recycling programs
to help you keep your community clean.
The following recycling programs are currently available (depending on your location):
- Oil - Used oil is collected in tanks at store locations. A recovery company will reprocess
it to make products like industrial and marine fuels, base oils and asphalt.
- Oil Filters - Once drained of excess oil, filters are recycled into new steel products such
as cans, cars, appliances and construction materials.
- Antifreeze - Old antifreeze is distilled for its reusable coolants to be used in automotive
and industrial applications.
- Batteries - Used batteries are returned to manufacturers, where they are broken down into
their lead, plastic and acid components for use in a variety of other products and applications.
Please contact your local Advance Auto Parts, Checker Auto Parts, Schuck's Auto Supply or Kragen Auto Parts for
details on their programs.
